Danielle produced Starry Night Concert, a voice and piano recital with concert pianist Leah Parker Zumberge in Santa Cruz, California, with proceeds benefitting Jacob’s Heart, a children’s cancer support organization. The concept of the program was to create an immersive evening of live classical music around a specific aesthetic, with theatrical lighting, set design, and other ambience-enhancing effects to completely envelope the audience in the experience. Works were chosen based on both programmatic and sonic aspects to evoke sensations of famous poetic interpretations of evening and night. The program explored themes of wonder and awe; longing and anxiety; and cradle songs/lullabies. Leah played some of the most exquisite solo piano works and a rarely performed Amy Beach duet with violinist Cynthia Baehr-Williams. Danielle sang in eight languages including Icelandic, Czech, Finnish, Swedish and Portuguese. Danielle and Leah were able to donate over $1000 to Jacob’s Heart.
